Design with Confidence
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) is a specialised agency of the United Nations. Its core function is to provide and maintain a robust regulatory framework for the marine and shipping industry. One of the founding pillars of the organisation is the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention, which sets global standards for fire safety on board ships.
When it comes to the use of textiles on vessels such as cruise liners or boats, all materials must comply with the SOLAS framework in order to be considered safe. Panaz has a wide range of IMO certified fabrics that cover a variety of uses, so you can design with complete confidence.
IMO Fabrics to Suit all Requirements
The SOLAS convention consists of four key tests that textiles must pass, which depend on the end use of the fabric. These are:
- IMO 2010 FTP Part 5 – for wall panels and bulkheads.
- IMO 2010 FTP Part 7 – for drapery and free hanging textiles.
- IMO 2010 FTP Part 8 – for upholstered furniture.
- IMO 2010 FTP Part 9 – for bedding components.
At Panaz, we have a wide range of IMO fabrics within each of these categories.
A Global Leader in IMO Fabrics
Ever since we were established in 1986, Panaz has been committed to delivering great designs and superior performance. As a result, we have developed a strong reputation for providing high-quality, IMO certified fabrics that are both safe and stylish.
We don’t just stop there, however, as we also offer a range of textiles that are water & stain resistant, contain patented antimicrobial technology, and have high Martindale and Wyzenbeek abrasion results — meaning they can handle anything that life throws at them.
Thanks to our offices and stock holdings in both the UK and USA, we’re also perfectly placed to assist designers across the globe, and can conform to even the most stringent of delivery deadlines. Quality and reliability is what you can expect from us.
Serious about Sustainability
At Panaz, we’re extremely conscious of the impact producing IMO certified fabrics can have on the environment. That’s why we’ve consistently devised new innovations to reduce the strain we place on the planet — such as a dry printing process which uses no water or harsh chemicals. The fact that our textiles are made to last also means you won’t need to replace them as often, which benefits both Mother Nature and your bottom line.
Our Clients
We’re incredibly proud to supply Panaz healthcare fabrics to a host of clients within the industry, including many NHS Trusts, as well as care home experts such as Teal Living and Shackletons.
